Well, I finally got the lead out and now I am 90%done with my second knife. I am making this one for my dad, it’s his birthday in mid June and I am flying home to see the family in a few days. I probably have close to 15 hours into this one and coming this far, I almost don’t want to give it to him. It feels so good in the hand, the jimping on the spine feels great and I am impressed with my first attempt at making a knife with a lanyard hole. I kinda borrowed the design of a Bark River knife, their Little creek. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right? Here are some quick pics of her so far:
Now all I need to do, is get a hair shaving edge on her, make a sheath and lanyard, and try to pick a name for her. I’m liking Cairan, meaning Little beloved.
Dive! Dive!
Nice blade, and MUCH better looking than my second knife.
Thank you so much for the kind words. Sorry it took so long to get back to you, I have been visiting with my family and didn’t take the laptop with me.
