Well, at least my russian woman does. That’s right, I just got the shipping confirmation from Sportsman’s Guide that my order of 880 rds of 7.62x54R is on its way to feed Nadya. I’m excited not only for the ammo, but also the sweet packaging that it comes in. Two spam cans of 440 rds inside of a wooden crate complete with cyrillic lettering and latch. I’m probably going to be using the crate to hold some of my random gun stuff and put the cans with the rest of my ammo dump. Another cool thing that gets me is the paper wrapped bundles of 20 rounds inside the cans, where some comrade’s grandmother probably spent many years wrapping bundles of ammo for the motherland. The only downside to this whole thing, this surplus ammo is DIRTY. Cleaning Nadya is worsened by the fact that she has some minor bore pitting and that makes lots of nooks and crannies for the corrosive powder to get into. Oh well, I rescued her, now I have to take care of her and that includes a well balanced diet of SPAM…. cans that is.
