The Liberator

A while back, I posted about Defense Distributed and their goal of designing a totally 3d printed gun.  Their idea reminded me of the old WWII Liberator pistol that was mass produced in secret and dropped to the French resistance fighters.  I like the fact that they made the same correlation and named their design after it.  Save for a nail as the firing pin, it seems they have finally done it.  Check out the video of it firing here.

It seems that it even uses a printed plastic spring to drive the firing pin, very nice.  I suppose the .gov could ban nails now…..  Suck it Gun Control!  Check them out for a free download at
