Sharpened up a pencil…

Pencil barrel that is.  I made a new upper for Miss Scarlett.  The initial AR I put together didn’t work well with backup iron sights and I have been saving for a nice scope for it.  In the meantime, I had an itch to make a super lightweight AR.  I got her right at 6.5 pounds now and I can still push it out to the 400m 11″x18″ steel plate.  0714132022a0714132025 0714132025a

Build Specs:

  1. ER Shaw .625 16″ pencil barrel with A2 flash hider
  2. BCM A2 FSB (drilled and tapped in 3 places to tighten around barrel)
  3. Magpul carbine handguard
  4. DS Arms stripped upper with KAC 200-600m micro rear sight
  5. Rock River BCG

Best part is, I’m only into this new upper for about $330.  Working at a gunshop is great, I made mention that I was making a plain jane upper and people started handing me spare barrel nuts, unwanted flash hiders, etc.
